man now that i’m done high school i have like no commitments except work which is pretty infrequent
like i do not have any responsibilities toward anyone until i work next which is saturday
and i want to take advantage of that freedom and enjoy my time but i also really want to be productive this summer
i have a lot of trouble motivating myself to do anything when there’s no person or deadline pushing me forward
like i’m really proud of myself for finding the time and resources to do the snake photoshoot (i posted about that right?) and managing to direct a play which was more voluntary work than i’ve ever done before
and i don’t want that to stop. there’s stuff i want to get done this summer (mostly paring down all my possessions and sorting through all my files and preparing for a new phase in my life) but i still want to move forward creatively and not let that part of myself stagnate
so i guess maybe I’m asking for advice? people of the internet: when you don’t have any kind of consequences for not doing something, how do you motivate yourself to keep doing it? do you make rewards or punishments for yourself? do you get other people to encourage you? is procrastination just not really an issue? how do you keep working on your writing/drawing/music/whatever?
