wow wikipedia says the little girl from that infamous vietnam war napalm picture lives like three towns over from me
ugh the default theme is gross
there has to be a compromise where everyone on the internet is happy
yeah I didn’t like how my old theme displayed tags and also reply posts looked really dumb
so I wanted to go through and change to something better but I got distracted and just left it on whichever one I was trying last
but seeing as I don’t really care what theme would you have me use?

I HAVE TO TAKE GYM ALL FOUR YEARS GOD. I CANT GRADUATE IF I DONT
jesus christ
I weep for you
yeah I don’t really know where I was on an out scale in freshman year which is the only year where gym is mandatory
but actually my gym class was like a concentration of the worst people in the entire school so I couldn’t ogle any of them if I tried
now I am so out of the closet my lit teacher tries to get me laid
it’s bittersweet I suppose
mmm, summer
I like walking barefoot and swimming and the sunshine and retreating into the cold cold basement to sleep

Sunday night Jesse decides to work. Classy.
fuck you, it isn’t due until wednesday
going to start my jane eyre essay
going to write about the twin themes of motherlessness and abandonment
thinking of positing in my thesis that jane eyre can be read as a character in a sort of perpetual adolescence stemming from her lack of maternal figure which only is resolved when her inheritance makes her feel un-abandoned
yep sounds good
going to write this
any
minute

they met for coffee when kurt got home and he said he loved kurt and it was very cuuuuute. also sam and mercedes might get together so finally mercedes gets some it’s about time fucking racist glee jesus
fuck
absolutely the one thing I was interested in I missed because I gave up after forty minutes of shit
I need my dumb handsome poorly written gay teen wish fulfilment ugh
also sam and mercedes my god they just fucking roll dice for this shit don’t they
wait wait blaine was there what happened
although at the same time the plot is structured around such weddings which are seen as so stereotypically female-dominated
and of course annie’s passion is something suitable feminine like making pastry in what feels like an attempt to balance her out so audiences don’t see her as too masculine or anything
yeah I don’t know it’s kind of complicated
but it sure is interesting to discuss

As far as it being a comedy and everything, yeah I thought it was pretty realistic. I guess though.. I mean what facets were you trying to look at about it?
Well I was asking her about the realism of the friendship between Annie and Lillian. But I was more focused on how it seemed to be marketed as groundbreaking because it had women being crude and poop jokes and sex jokes and wow you’ll like this too fellas!!
It almost seemed like the idea that a movie could have both a primarily female cast and raunchy humour was made such a gimmick that it bugged me. It couldn’t have just been accepted as a funny movie with female leads, it was treated as a revolutionary new concept.
From the free promotional magazine they have at the theatre: “As women around the world fight for equality, women in Hollywood do their parts, finally feeling empowered to bring the fart jokes.”
Honestly what is that.
I also wasn’t a fan of the ‘absurd comic relief’ role being automatically given to the overweight, unattractive one. Even if the other minor characters were portrayed as a little dim or insensitive or naive their ideas and problems were usually treated as valid but not the fat one nope~
Overall I found it to be funny and a pretty good film overall—even though the tone was kind of unbalanced throughout—but I don’t think it was empowering to women like some people say it was.
So I saw Bridesmaids yesterday and on the drive home I was thinking about whether or not it was a feminist movie because I had read a couple of articles on the whole “women in comedy” thing. I was considering asking my mother for her opinion but I figured she wouldn’t really be into it.
But then I decided to tell her about what I had read and talk about how the movie portrays women and their relationships and so on and I asked her if she felt the movie was realistic.
And she said, “Yeah, I think it’s realistic. I had food poisoning once, it was really bad. You just can’t stop it. I was on my hands and knees in the shower.”
and then I threw myself out of the car
Also it is a Canadian holiday so I don’t have to go to school today.
my mother is taking me to see bridesmaids tonight
does anyone know if it’s any good?
Ingrid Michaelson | Be OK
things I should probably do today:
- finish pride and prejudice essay (come on you have like fifty words left why do you keep putting this off I hate you)
- work on drama ISU (ugh whatever)
- try to burn west side story dvds (I should make gifs of people I hate)
now I am watching adaptation
I’m worried that if I keep electing to stay inside and watch movies I may eventually become a film buff
whenever I see that someone from my school has created a blog on tumblr I become worried that they will start following me
because then where will I go to complain about them?
I am watching “But I’m a Cheerleader” because I am a lesbian.

THE GREEN LIGHT REPRESENTS GATSBY’S UNDYING LOVE FOR DAISY AND IT’S GREEN BECAUSE HE’S JEALOUS waahhh. also did you notice fitzgerald uses the word incessant a lot. he uses incessant almost incessantly. k.
words certain authors like to use a lot as measured by me occasionally noticing this in my reading:
mary shelley - ardor
jane austen - propriety
can’t remember any more but holy fuck frankenstein was like the word ardor ninety thousand times with a couple of other things happening in between
